Finance industry looks to Sen. Gregg on regulatory reform

Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., is expected to be a proponent of the financial industry as he participates in the drafting of the final bill overhauling financial regulations. Mr. Gregg has commented that some of the measures included in the legislation are dangerous liberalism. "This is more of the global agenda of the left to take control of the marketplace and promote their social-justice agenda," Mr. Gregg said. The industry is hoping Mr. Gregg can help the other lawmakers reach an agreement. "He will help to serve as an honest broker to achieve consensus among the conferees," said Scott Talbott, senior vice president for government affairs at The Financial Services Roundtable.
