Humane euthanasia is among the first topics for Ohio livestock board

The new Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board will tackle the issue of euthanasia and expects one of its first actions to be a set of recommendations on the subject to be released in late summer. The move comes in advance of an issue that goes to voters later this year that would require humane killing of animals and prohibit the sale or receipt of "downer" cows into the human food supply.
