Medical providers say overtreatment can make patients sicker

Health care providers and medical groups are beginning to understand that more care is not always better and can even carry risks from side effects or complications. Groups such as the American College of Physicians are writing guidelines and working with physicians to reduce unnecessary care and help patients look at the risks and benefits of treatment options.
