PNC Financial Services Group, Fifth Third Bancorp, KeyCorp, Huntington Bancshares and other banks say that the disappearance of some of their competition has opened up opportunities to grab market share. "All the shadow banking stuff essentially got wiped out," said Stephen Steinour, CEO of Huntington. "The nonbank sector was about half of the finance industry pie when you added it all up. Much of that is gone -- that is a lot of pie for the rest of us."
