Resolution to stop EPA's carbon rules is up for debate in Senate

The Senate will debate Thursday the resolution by Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, that seeks to block the Environmental Protection Agency from using the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions. Murkowski's resolution is about stopping an "out-of-control" federal agency and not about climate science, said Robert Dillon, a spokesman for the senator. The measure, which has 41 supporters so far, needs 51 votes to clear the chamber.
