Roof is latest renovation for Ohio art museum

The roof of an event space at the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio exposes the courtyard for the first time in 57 years and is part of a $36.9 million renovation and expansion. The roof's new steel beams are in place, but it will be a few weeks before contractors install the vaulted ceiling's glass panels, which will be treated to let the sunshine in but deflect heat to ease cooling requirements. The entire museum's overhaul is expected to be completed by the fall of 2013.
