Sticky rice held together ancient construction projects

Ancient Chinese laborers used sticky rice to hold together many of their construction projects, researchers have discovered. The gooey rice soup was first added to mortar about 1,500 years ago and helped make buildings strong enough to resist earthquakes, scientists say.
