WiMAX group plays down the Portland office closure

The WiMAX Forum maintains that the closing of its Portland, Ore., office and the loss of up to 100 members are not signs that the 4G wireless technology is losing more ground to rival LTE. The standards and certification group has opened a smaller office in San Diego, and Chairman Ron Resnick said the major WiMAX vendors remained in the group.
