AAR reports traffic, hiring gains during May

The Association of American Railroads reported that carload and intermodal gains were seen in May. U.S. railroads also ramped up hiring, adding 935 workers to the rolls. However, the overall number of unused rail cars increased in May, with North American rail car owners storing 279,083 as of June 1 compared to 276,228 in April.
