Study: VA cancer care quality equal to or better than private sector

The Veterans Health Administration has made big improvements in the quality of cancer care for senior patients, according to a study in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Harvard Medical School researchers said care for colorectal, lung and prostate cancer patients is "similar to or better than care for fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries." Previous studies have said the VA's preventive, long-term, acute and chronic care quality have met that standard.
