Many derivatives are concentrated in few banks, Fitch says

A study found that two-thirds of derivatives assets and liabilities among 100 big companies reviewed by Fitch Ratings reside in six banks. Such concentration has been the norm for a long time, but a new wrinkle is the Dodd-Frank Act, which might result in downgrades unless billions of dollars in collateral is posted.
