Athenahealth, Epic lead EMR usability ratings, study says

Epic Systems and athenahealth lead the rankings of EHR vendors in terms of the usability of their ambulatory EMR systems, according to a report released by KLAS Research. The study, which surveyed 163 providers, found the ambulatory software-as-a-service platform offered by athenahealth received the highest usability rating, both at the go live and current state, for different-sized practices. Epic's users were happy with its EHR system after the adjustment stage, giving it high marks for directing providers and being highly customizable.
