Cleveland Clinic to boost patients' access to EMRs

The Cleveland Clinic is helping patients become more engaged in their own care with its new transparency plan that will give them access to almost all the data in their EMRs. Currently, the provider only authorizes patients to view some parts of their EMRs online, including vaccination records, medication lists and after-visit records. The new plan, which starts this month, will let patients see the other parts of their EMRs such as X-ray reports, physician notes and pathology records.
