Del. Senate passes transgender-rights bill

The Delaware Senate voted Thursday to add protections for transgender individuals to the state's nondiscrimination laws. Supporters had worked to rebut claims that the measure could result in predators gaining access to women's restrooms. "What we are talking about here is really a red herring," said Sarah McBride, a transgender woman whose parents testified about the measure, which now heads to the state House.
