Lawmaker seeks study of military discipline system

Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., has introduced an amendment to the 2014 Defense Authorization Act that aims to prevent troops from being discharged for misconduct when they suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or other war injuries. The provision calls for the formation of a 10-member Commission on Military Behavioral Health and Disciplinary Issues to study the military discipline system.
