Minn. tests reading, writing standards under the common core

As states nationwide work to implement the Common Core State Standards, Minnesota has adopted only the reading and writing standards -- maintaining its own math standards. With the common core come new reading and writing assessments, and state officials are warning parents and others that the revised assessments likely will result in lower scores than in the past and should not be compared.
