If a candidate suspects the offer was withdrawn because of race, gender or any other protected class, legal action may be a possibility. Candidates also could have a claim if they failed a background or credit check. "If you feel uneasy about the reason behind a rescinded offer, consult with an employment attorney to determine what may be done," Graves advises.
