Metabolic syndrome linked to digestive system cancers

A study of more than 33,000 men found having metabolic syndrome or its components can raise the risk of developing digestive system cancers. Researchers said a low cardiorespiratory fitness level was linked to the highest risk of metabolic syndrome and an increased risk for colon, esophageal, liver and possibly pancreatic cancer deaths.
