Study: Beta cells regenerate in bioengineered mice

Mature, insulin-positive pancreatic beta cells in biotech mice regenerated within two months after researchers induced cell death, a U.S. study found. The study also discovered that the animals' blood glucose levels went back to normal within the same period, boosting hopes that the mechanism may aid research on Type 1 diabetes.
