$80M in stimulus funds allocated to Oregon geothermal plant

A project to develop a geothermal plant near Bend, Ore., is slated to receive $80 million in federal stimulus funds after a 2007 report from the U.S. Department of Energy identified the area as one of six possible test sites for enhanced geothermal development. Davenport Power is investigating ways to advance its project after two test wells indicated in October there was sufficient heat, but not enough water, for a commercial plant.
