Program blends athletics, academics as college-prep tool

A program that uses the game of squash as a way to boost academic achievement and college enrollment among students has been adopted in nine localities in North America. Some students in Harlem, N.Y., participate in StreetSquash four days each week, with two days dedicated to homework and squash, another day reserved for SAT preparation or other academic help for younger students, and the final day set aside to just play squash.
