Some banks will be allowed to repay TARP funds

Some of the largest banks in the nation are about to get the green light to repay federal aid they received through the Troubled Asset Relief Program. However, some officials cautioned that the government is still supporting the industry through debt guarantees, inexpensive loans and vows that systemically important institutions will not be allowed to collapse.
