Stimulus funds allow Oregon firm to avoid cutting jobs

An Oregon construction contractor said projects funded by the economic-stimulus package have allowed him to avoid some layoffs and even create new jobs. Don Laskey made the comments during a conference call held by the Associated General Contractors. He noted that Laskey-Clifton Corp. has secured paving projects worth $5 million, including paving work for the Oregon Department of Transportation.
