American Campus Communities invests in JV buyout, development

American Campus Communities is acquiring the ownership interests in 14 student-housing properties, completely buying out Fidelity Real Estate Group's 90% stake. The 8,534 beds in the properties are in two joint ventures managed by Fidelity. It also has announced plans to construct two new projects: a $35.4 million off-campus facility for the University of Texas at San Antonio and a property at the University of New Mexico.
