Connecticut rescuers begin pet emergency-preparedness efforts

The Connecticut State Animal Response Team held its first official training for Region 2 last weekend at Milford Animal Control. During the training, volunteers were taught to pitch tents specially designed to house pets during a hurricane or any major disaster. About 60% of American households have pets, with about 2.6 pets in each of those homes, according to this article, which cites AVMA.
