Court backs new EU rules capping roaming charges

EU regulators have won the backing of Europe's highest court, which today declined to overturn new European Union caps on mobile roaming charges. "The community had the right to impose caps on the prices charged by mobile-telephone operators for roaming calls in the interest of the internal market," the European Court said in deciding against a challenge to the 2007 rules brought by four major carriers.
