Poll: Investors support regulatory reform but oppose "Volcker rule"

A Bloomberg News survey of global investors found that most respondents support legislation that would bolster consumer financial protection and increase banks' capital requirements. However, they oppose the "Volcker rule," which would ban some financial institutions from proprietary trading. About 70% of investors back the idea of moving standardized derivatives trades to exchanges, while more than 50% are against a rule that would force commercial banks to spin off their swaps desk, according to the poll.
