Veterans with PTSD are more likely to develop dementia

A seven-year study of more than 180,000 veterans aged 55 and older found that those with post-traumatic stress disorder are almost twice as likely to develop dementia than those without the disorder. The findings have major implications on how patients with PTSD should be treated, one of the researchers said.
