FAA seeks mandatory fixes to airspeed sensors on regional jets

The Federal Aviation Administration has released a proposed directive that would require more than 1,000 regional jets to have their airspeed sensors replaced. The FAA's proposal follows the determination that malfunctions of such devices contributed to the 2009 crash of an Air France plane. The directive would affect a wide range of Bombardier regional jets.
