Is Singapore math right for all schools?

In the past decade, about 2,000 schools nationwide have adopted the Singapore math method, which encourages a basic mastery of skills before moving on to new material. However, as one Washington, D.C., school works to integrate the method into its curriculum, officials say the challenges of urban schools make the adoption of Singapore math challenging. Student mobility, teacher turnover and a need for more training are seen as primary obstacles.
