Asteroid missed Earth by only 65,000 miles

A 30-foot-wide asteroid buzzed past Earth on Saturday, only 65,000 miles above the Southern Ocean. The asteroid joins the ranks of several recent close encounters, including one that exploded above Russia in February. "There is theoretically a collision possible between asteroids and planet Earth," said astronomer Gianluca Masi.
