Women make their mark on the beer industry

Beer has traditionally been marketed as a product for men, but women are starting breweries and working to counteract that custom. Research from Auburn University has found that women account for 29% of brewery workers, and a study by Gallup found that young women generally prefer beer over wine. "There's definitely been a huge increase of women in the industry since I started in 2007," said Mirella Amato, author of "Beerology: Everything You Need to Know to Enjoy Beer ... Even More."
