AMA pushes for registry for drug clinical trial information

The AMA is due to vote this weekend on a resolution to urge the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to create a registry of all clinical trials on drugs and their results. The registry is needed, say experts, because drug companies often don't disclose the results of studies that reflect negatively on their products and health care providers say there is no comprehensive system to allow for the tracking of and dissemination of information about ongoing drug trials.
