New Vatican document offers familiar condemnation of same-sex marriage

In its first major document on social issues under Pope Benedict XVI, the Vatican repeated its condemnation of same-sex marriage, along with contraception, abortion and in vitro fertilization. Italian gay activists criticized the 57-page paper as an "attack against modern life, freedom and social redemption."
