Report: California schools sideline PE

Only 37 of 73 California districts surveyed over the past two years met the state mandate of offering at least 200 minutes of physical instruction every 10 days to elementary school students, the California Center for Public Health Advocacy reports. Educators blame testing pressures and other factors for cutbacks to PE time.
