Budget cuts reduce hospital infection-control efforts

A survey of infection-control specialists found budget cutbacks are reducing hospital programs that educate staff about hospital-acquired infections. Some 44% of these experts said they attended fewer meetings because of cutbacks, and 42% said they didn't do as many walking rounds of hospital units.
