Design change will reduce cost of Brooklyn stadium by $200M

Developer Forest City Ratner has changed the design of the proposed Barclays Center Coliseum in Brooklyn's Atlantic Yards development to lower the cost of the project. Last week, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he supported the company's decision to replace architect Frank Gehry, who remains the master planner of the project, with Ellerbe Becket. The new design will cut construction costs by $200 million.
