Rhodia weathers decline in demand with careful strategies

France-based specialty chemical producer Rhodia says it was able to generate positive free cash flow in the first quarter despite costly raw material inventories and unprecedented low levels of demand. The company says it was partly prepared for the decline in that its cash-management group moved from quarterly to monthly reviews and it increased focus on managing the supply chain and increasing visibility of processes.
