Small firms have their perks

As large corporations increasingly offer less job security, more workers are seeking out small firms where the atmosphere is more intimate and they can have more creative input, writes Joseph V. Tirella. Not being able to offer all the benefits big companies provide, Tirella notes that small-business owners are getting more creative about the perks they can offer to keep their employees happy -- like bringing babies to work, getting a free bicycle to reduce their carbon footprint or getting shares of company stock.
