Maine governor enacts new requirement for dental plans

Recently signed legislation in Maine requires dental plans to begin children's coverage from the time they are born. If children do not see a dentist until they are between the ages of 2 and 4, they can already have "significant tooth decay that could be avoided by seeing a dentist as soon as their first teeth appear," said the lawmaker who sponsored the bill.
