Republicans square off against White House over EPA's carbon rules

Republican lawmakers led by Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, are challenging the White House over the Environmental Protection Agency's authority to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions. Murkowski wants to stop the EPA's rules through a resolution that is up for a Senate vote today. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, R-Nev., and other Democrats are considering voting on a proposal from Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., in an effort to weaken support for Murkowski's plan, sources said.
