School plans greater focus on young students with hearing impairments

A Framingham, Mass., school for students with hearing impairments is adding an early-childhood center to serve a growing number of students being identified earlier as hearing-impaired. A new library will also be added and will feature a media conference center to help provide access to online-learning options for students and teachers. Founded in 1970, the Learning Center for the Deaf offers a bilingual curriculum in English and American Sign Language for students in preschool through high school.
