Massachusetts' $1.5B Assembly Row development to begin this fall

After numerous delays, construction will finally begin on Assembly Row along the Mystic River in Somerville, Mass. The 60-acre Assembly Square development project will include a hotel, residential buildings with retail stores on the ground floors, retail centers and an IKEA furniture shop. Other aspects of the project include restoration of a large portion of the Mystic River Reservation, construction of the Assembly Square Orange Line transit station and new bike lanes supported by $104 million worth of funds from the federal and state governments.
