New year-round school in Va. to serve students with autism

A new year-round private school set to open this fall will be the first in the Newport News, Va., area that specifically is for children with autism. The Peninsula School for Autism, founded by two mothers of children with the disorder, will employ one-on-one applied behavior analysis methods and hire a paraprofessional for each student. An early-childhood program also is planned, the school's executive director said.
