Ohio high school displays flag, portrait from George Washington's Va. home

An American flag that flew over George Washington's Virginia home, and a portrait of the first president, are on display at Akron, Ohio's Norton High School, as gifts from Washington's estate. The items made their way to Ohio after social studies teacher Danielle Perella-Dutton visited Mount Vernon as part of a training program for teachers. Perella-Dutton said she uses her experiences at Mount Vernon to help her students learn more about Washington.
