Wis. social studies teacher uses creativity to mark his first year

As a first-year teacher at Delong Middle School in Wisconsin, social studies teacher Sam Van Hefty was not short of ideas or enthusiasm. He used a game of dodgeball to illustrate the battles between American and British troops during the American Revolution and how the tide turned to the Americans. New teachers at the school are paired with mentors and, like other teachers, work in teams, principal Tim O'Reilly said.
