Work continues on social studies standards without school chiefs group

"The College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards" will be published this summer, but without the involvement of the Council of Chief State School Officers, education reporter Catherine Gewertz writes in this blog post. Chris Minnich, executive director of the CCSSO, said his group is withdrawing from the process to focus its efforts on helping states transition to the language arts and math components of the Common Core State Standards.
