Concrete portico roof to be replaced at Utah Governor's Mansion

The 30-ton concrete roof at the portico of the Utah Governor's Mansion in Salt Lake City will be upgraded at a cost of more than $1.1 million. The 400-square-foot roof is at risk of coming down in an earthquake, so it will be replaced with a steel deck covered "with foil-backed copper," said Mike Ambre, the division project manager for the portico.
