Demand for rooftop solar panels heats up in Mo. city

Installation of rooftop solar energy systems has been gaining popularity in Columbia, Mo., as they help residential and commercial property owners save money. A net-metering program from Columbia Water and Light reduces electricity bills by factoring in the excess energy consumers generate. Dan Shifley, who owns Dogwood Solar, said he has seen increasing interest from residential and commercial customers about installation of solar energy systems.
