England prepares for expansion of Mandarin-language education

England has announced a major expansion in Mandarin-language education -- setting a goal of training more than 1,200 specialist Mandarin teachers and doubling the number of children learning the language by the end of the decade. Officials say they hope the expansion will help to curb a decline in interest in foreign-language education in the country and train more students in the "language of the future."
